Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, attendance, and participation in services provided by Salted Barrel.

By making a booking, attending a session or participating in services provided by Salted Barrel, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Participation & Eligibility

  • Participants must be at least 16 years of age unless otherwise approved by Salted Barrel.

  • Salted Barrel reserves the right to request proof of age.

  • Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own discretion.

  • All participants must comply with all safety directions and operational requirements.


2. Health & Fitness for Participation
Participants are responsible for assessing their own suitability for sauna use.
Participants should not attend or participate if they:

  • are under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

  • are feeling unwell, dizzy, dehydrated, or physically compromised;

  • have a medical condition that may be adversely affected by heat exposure, unless medically cleared.

Participants must immediately notify staff if they feel unwell during a session.
Salted Barrel reserves the right to refuse participation where safety concerns arise.

3. Sauna Rules & Conduct
To ensure a safe and respectful environment, participants agree to:

  • follow all instructions, steps & procedures provided by Salted Barrel staff;

  • exercise care when entering, exiting, and moving around the sauna area;

  • avoid touching hot surfaces including the stove, flue, stones, and fire barriers;

  • wear appropriate swimwear at all times;

  • remain seated on a towel while inside the sauna;

  • respect the peace, comfort, privacy, and safety of other participants.

The following are prohibited:

  • smoking or vaping;

  • alcohol or illicit substances;

  • aggressive, unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour;

  • misuse of sauna equipment or water application;

  • unauthorised operation of fire or heating equipment.

Phones and electronic devices are discouraged inside the sauna due to heat exposure and patron privacy considerations.

4. Session Times & Arrival

  • Participants are expected to arrive prior to their scheduled session time.

  • Late arrivals may result in reduced session time.

  • Salted Barrel is not obligated to extend session durations for late arrivals.

  • Participants who fail to attend a booked session may forfeit their booking without refund.


5. Booking, Cancellation & Refund Policy
Participant Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the session may receive:

  • a booking transfer; or

  • credit toward a future session.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session may not be eligible for refund or transfer.

  • No-shows are non-refundable.


Salted Barrel Cancellations
Salted Barrel reserves the right to cancel, postpone, relocate, or modify sessions due to:

  • severe weather;

  • fire danger;

  • unsafe environmental conditions;

  • mechanical or operational issues;

  • staffing issues;

  • council or authority direction;

  • events outside reasonable operational control.

Where a session is cancelled by Salted Barrel, participants will be offered either:

  • a rescheduled session;

  • booking credit; or

  • refund where required by law.


6. Outdoor & Temporary Locations
Salted Barrel operates in temporary, outdoor, public, or semi-public locations which may involve varying environmental conditions.
Conditions may include:

  • uneven terrain;

  • sand, mud, or wet surfaces;

  • changing weather conditions;

  • public access areas;

  • reduced lighting;

  • environmental hazards outside Salted Barrel’s control.

Participants are responsible for exercising reasonable care in these environments.

7. Optional Water Use
Where access to natural water, ocean areas, cold plunge facilities, or other water environments is available:

  • participation is entirely optional;

  • participants enter water environments at their own risk;

  • Salted Barrel does not provide lifeguard services;

  • participants are responsible for assessing their own swimming capability and physical condition.

  • participants must not enter water while feeling unwell, dizzy, overheated, or physically impaired.

  • participants are responsible for assessing the water conditions and suitability for use.

  • participation is not required for a 'hot/cold' exposure therapy and alternative means of sitting in the cool air or wading can be substituted as desired.


8. Right to Refuse Service
Salted Barrel reserves the right to refuse entry, terminate participation, or remove any person without refund where operators reasonably believe that a participant:

  • poses a safety risk;

  • is intoxicated or impaired;

  • behaves aggressively or inappropriately;

  • fails to follow staff directions; or

  • negatively impacts the safety, wellbeing, or experience of others.


9. Personal Property
Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings.
To the extent permitted by law, Salted Barrel accepts no responsibility, financial or physical for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

10. Photography & Marketing
Salted Barrel may capture photographs or video for promotional and marketing purposes.
Participants who do not wish to appear in marketing material must notify staff prior to the commencement of their session.
Salted Barrel will take reasonable steps to respect participant privacy preferences.

11. Limitation of Liability
Participation in sauna services may come with inherent, extrinsic & implied risks.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salted Barrel excludes liability for injury, loss, damage, or illness arising from participation in recreational services, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or applicable legislation.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes rights or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to Services or Terms
Salted Barrel reserves the right to:

  • modify session formats;

  • update operating procedures;

  • change locations;

  • amend pricing; and

  • update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Updated Terms & Conditions apply from the date published on the Salted Barrel website or booking platform.

13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of South Australia.
Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.

Participant Waiver & Risk Acknowledgement
Participation in sauna bathing, heat exposure, cold exposure, outdoor movement, and associated activities involves inherent and obvious risks.
These risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • dehydration;

  • dizziness;

  • nausea;

  • fainting;

  • burns;

  • heat stress;

  • slips, trips, and falls;

  • exposure to varying weather conditions;

  • hot surfaces and equipment; and

  • risks associated with optional cold water immersion or natural water environments.

Serious injury, illness, or death may occur as a result of participation.
By participating, patrons acknowledge that they understand and voluntarily accept these risks.

Australian Consumer Law Notice
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salted Barrel excludes liability for death, physical injury, or illness arising from participation in recreational services supplied by Salted Barrel, including where caused by negligence.
Nothing in this waiver excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or consumer guarantees which cannot lawfully be excluded under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or applicable State legislation.

Health Declaration
Participants acknowledge that sauna use may not be suitable for all individuals.
Participants should not participate if they:

  • are under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

  • are pregnant unless medically cleared;

  • suffer from cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled blood pressure, epilepsy, respiratory conditions, heat sensitivity, or other medical conditions affected by heat exposure;

  • have recently undergone surgery or medical treatment that may impair safe participation; or

  • feel unwell, dizzy, dehydrated, or physically compromised.

Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical condition and obtaining medical advice prior to participation where appropriate.
Participants agree to immediately leave the sauna and notify operators if they experience dizziness, nausea, faintness, chest pain, breathing difficulty, or other signs of distress.

Assumption of Risk
Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in sauna activities and related environments operated by Salted Barrel.
